Deutsche Börse is now the majority owner of Crypto Finance. The deal between the German market infrastructure provider and the Switzerland-headquartered fintech was completed in December 2021. The deal enables Deutsche Börse to provide its service partners and customers direct access to digital assets and services. The agreement gives Crypto Finance access to Deutsche Börse’s network, a strong capital base to drive growth, and aids its efforts to build its customer base in Germany and Singapore.

Crypto Finance will continue to operate independently, focusing on asset managers, banks, fintechs, and other financial intermediaries.  Additionally, it will retain its current CEO, Jan Brzezek, and management team.

Jan Brzezek said: “Established financial institutions increasingly want to start investing in digital assets and are looking for a trustworthy partner. With its reputation and broad expertise in operating financial market infrastructure, Deutsche Börse garners this trust.”

Eric Leupold, head of cash market at Deutsche Börse, said: “Thanks to Crypto Finance’s proven expertise and the technologies they have developed, we can now enable financial institutions and professional investors to enter the digital asset market. This is a step further in our digital asset strategy.”
