Investment bank Nomura has named Sameer Jain as its new wholesale chief information officer. Jain is a former Barclays and UBS executive who has spent almost 30 years at the two companies in senior technology positions. He will head the bank’s efforts to align its digitalisation and data strategy in its wholesale division.
Prior to joining Nomura, Jain spent 13 years at Barclays, where he held the positions of foreign exchange and exotics technology head, FICC technology head, CIO, and lastly Group chief technology officer.
At UBS, he began as a team lead for interest rates technology, followed by helming structured rates and credit technology, and ending his tenure as head of credit and emerging markets technology. He also spent 13 years at UBS.
Nomura Asset Management UK also recently appointed a new portfolio manager, Victoria Robinson. Robinson will work in the unconstrained fixed income team in London. This will be her second appointment at the bank, as she previously spent seven years as a trader.
